Entertainment Unit #1: Open Living Space

Transformation Required

Mark and Julie were looking for a slimline, contemporary entertainment unit to suit their new open living/dining space. After installing a new gas fireplace housed within a gyprock surround, they had a long empty nook in need of a customised cabinetry solution that was both stylish and functional to house their extensive AV equipment.

Chosen Materials

The solution was achieved using a 2pac painted finish on a run of 3 x push-to-open cabinets in Dulux ‘Natural White’, paired with a stunning Silestone benchtop from the Eternal collection called ‘Charcoal Soapstone’ in a contemporary suede finish. A ventilation grill required for equipment housed within the cabinet was cut into the stone benchtop, painted to match the benchtop colour for a seamless finish.

Entertainment Unit #2: Separate TV Room

Transformation Required

As part of a whole house renovation of their 40+ year old family residence, Mark and Julie were seeking a way to incorporate a slab of Blackwood solid timber left over from their newly renovated kitchen into the design of a custom made entertainment unit to be housed in their separate carpeted TV room.

Chosen Materials

The solution was achieved by remodelling the slab of Blackwood timber to become feature cabinet doors, with push-to-open mechanisms fitted. The benchtop, end panels and base panel were all in matching 25.5mm 2pac painted MDF in Dulux ‘Natural White’ to create a white ‘picture frame’ effect around the timber doors. Floating 100mm off the floor, it is a simple yet elegant piece, and also very functional with a ventilation grill in the centre of the benchtop required for AV equipment housed within the cabinet.
